While galvanised steel has a well-established lifespan of 30-60 years, perforating the steel compromises its protective coating by cutting through the galvanised layer and exposing the underlying metal. Since the steel must be galvanised before perforation, the exposed metal will begin to rust within 5 years, especially in high humidity and wet environments. To mitigate this issue, we recommend using AbsorberLine EV ULTRA, which boasts self-healing properties that can re-seal perforations and provide protection for up to 20 years in wet applications.

    Why not just use aluminium or stainless steel you may ask?


    Aluminium costs a lot, which most projects shy from and stainless steel is a nightmare to fold and bend. Galvinised steel is the more malleable. 

  • Are AbsorberLine® panels high impact?

    Yes, AbsorberLine® is commonly used in industrial applications as wall and enclosure liners where impact is expected. It is also favored in sports halls, where it is known as a football's best friend. If your project requires constant high impact, we can easily increase the gauge of the steel, for example to a 1.2mm.


  • Are AbsorberLine® panels UV stable?

    AbsorberLine® panels are UV stable. This means they can withstand exposure to sunlight without degrading or losing their properties. So, whether used in outdoor or indoor settings, you can trust that AbsorberLine® panels will maintain their strength and performance over time.


  • Are AbsorberLine® panels suited for external use?

    So we have AbsorberLine® EV/ MF, both suitable, generally speaking up to 5 years, due to potential rusting. However, AbsorberLine® ULTRA are suitable up to 25 years, thanks to its patented self healing properties. 

  • Are AbsorberLine® customisable?

    Yeah, we can powder coat to any RAL colour, offer various perforation styles and even lipping/ groove details.
